ELDOA™ is a method of self-improvement and stretching that very quickly helps shift one’s posture and functioning developed by the French Osteopath Guy Voyer. Guy Voyer, DO an ambitious man, worked as a physical educator, physiotherapist with many specializations, including sports medicine and rehabilitation. He studied Osteopathy with numerous schools in Europe and in Canada and worked in clinics for years as he did clinical research and taught in osteopathic schools. He developed his method which engages fully the fascial system after thoughtful analysis and consideration of other modalities of the of era. ELDOA™ is a French acronym: Etirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptition Osteo-Articulair, this translates in English to LOADS: Longitudinal Osteo-Articular De-coaptation Stretching.
Ultimately the intent of ELDOA™ is to create more space in articulations of the spine or other target articulations, this can lead to decreased pain and better joint mobility. One does this through very specific positions or postures that engage the myofascial system for a short, intense, period of time, usually no longer than a few minutes.
